So I started work on Saturday and it's now about half done. Just about all of the space sequences are finished and everything up to the part in the animatic where the parachutes deployed is essentially done.
The think I like about filming/animating space scenes is that it's like a ballet--a bit poetic--and zero-G gives off a different feel than weighted things. You also have to slow things down and try and make things more majestic. The shot of the star peering over the wing of the craft I feel shows this. Space is an empty void, but what little you find is awe-inspiring. Lighting is the only thing I decided to cut back on, but I think it can still be felt in the animation.
I'd never be able to make something like this if it weren't for my film class; and I think it'll show.
What's everyone/anyone think of the screenshots so far?
